ABOUT
Ashley's a Canadian filmmaker born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a storyteller, her work reflects her mixed cultural roots of growing up in a Métis and Scottish family. Known for producing the feature film "Black Field", directed by Danishka Esterhazy and starring Sara Canning and Ferron Guerreiro. Black Field has received numerous accolades including the Amazon Video Direct Award (2017) at the Sundance Film Festival, Best Feature Drama at the Vancouver Women in Film Festival (2011) and Best Canadian Feature at the Female Eye Film Festival (2011).
In 2018, Ashley was proud to co-produce the supernatural thriller "Wynter" for the Canadian broadcaster, the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN). "Wynter" showcased the talents of an Indigenous lead cast and was made in partnership with production companies Animiki See Digital Production and Really Good Stories.
Ashley partnered again with Animiki See Digital Production in 2019 to make her television directing debut with the 13 episode APTN series "Feast". Hosted by Indigenous chef Tiffany "Wahsontiiostha" Deer.
Ashley's also a classically trained Actress who studied Shakespearian acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (UK) and is an alumni of The National Screen Institute's New Voices program.
